CHARITY SHOP DEPUTY MANAGER REQUIRED

Come and join our fantastic charity and wonderful team!

We are looking for a hands-on Deputy Manager with experience of working in a charity shop/retail outlet/voluntary sector and experience of working with people with learning disabilities and autism. The post is 30 hours over 4 days per week and will include Saturdays. We are offering a competitive salary - £25,350 per annum (£20,280 pro rata). Please note that this will be a fixed term contract for 12 months.

This is a great opportunity for someone who can work with a diverse group of volunteers to create a welcoming experience in our shop to attract more volunteers, donors and customers.

Our successful candidate will be someone who is positive in their approach and attitude, hardworking, flexible and customer focused. They will be caring, patient and be able to offer a person-centred approach to our trainees/volunteers to help build their confidence and ensure they grow to their full potential. The Role of the Deputy Shop Manager

The role of the deputy shop manager is varied, busy and gives the opportunity to work with some amazing people. The Deputy Manager is vital for the success of our business and can make a real difference to everyone involved in our project.

You will support the Shop manager in our Leith based charity retail shop to:

Maximise the income and profit of the shop through efficient stock management, replenishment/rotation, merchandising and displays.

Deliver training and support to a team of volunteers and trainees to help them achieve their desired outcomes and take every effort to create a nurturing, happy and relaxed retail environment.

Monitor progress of the trainees and report to Shop Manager.

Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters so they have a great shopping experience.

Ensure that All Together administrative and financial procedures are followed,

Raise the profile of All Together Edinburgh.

Build positive relationships with members of the team.

Manage the shop in the Shop Manager’s absence. You will be a keyholder opening and closing the shop for the agreed trading hours and ensuring the premises are secure on leaving.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need to have the following;

To have previous experience, preferably management experience in the charity retail sector, retail sector or voluntary sector

To have experience of working with people/volunteers and experience of working with people with learning disabilities, autism or neurodivergent people.

To be able to motivate a team of trainees and volunteers and create a safe, supportive working environment.

To be able to demonstrate resilience to everyday pressures and manage conflict and seek support, advice and guidance when needed.

To be highly organised with good time management skills.

To have skills in merchandising and display.

To have the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

To have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

To have high standards and a strong drive to achieve results.

To be able to interpret basic financial reports, monitor budgets and maintain shop administrative systems including banking, cash register reconciliation, weekly returns and service user records.

To ideally be educated to Nat 5/O level/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent

To have a willingness to complete our pre-employment checks (to be undertaken once the role is offered and accepted) which include a PVG check:

To have a willingness for a check on your eligibility to work in the UK as per the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006 by providing necessary documentation.
